2010 Treeview Dolphin Registration Information

 

Hello Parents,

 

It’s hard to believe soon the 2010 season will be starting. The first day of practice will be April 12th. The first meet will be June 5th.

 

Our board has been busy planning for the new season and we have posted a tentative calendar here. This year the Board came up with two new events to add to our calendar; a beach outing to Manresa State Beach near Santa Cruz and also a Bowling afternoon. We are also pleased to announce based on your feedback that we will be adding more practice time and breaking up the age groups so that the kids can get more individualized work with our coaches.

 

Speaking of coaches, we are happy to announce that our Head Coach for the 2010 Season will be Adam Kallabis. Coach Bob gave Adam a sterling recommendation but stopped short of saying that Adam would be around for 30 Years.  We have also hired Anna Gainey-Vejar (James Logan Varsity Women’s Swim Coach) to be an Assistant Head Coach. Coaches Jill Lothian and Gail Mobley will also be back for another year of coaching to round out our coaching staff.

 

Registration will be 3/27 and 3/29 at Treeview Pool (301 Gresel Street). The sample suits are scheduled to arrive prior to registration so if your child has grown since last season and needs a new suit there will be some available to try.

Below are links to the Treeview Parent agreement and EBSL Application and EBSL Medical form. The forms are in Adobe PDF. We recommend you complete these forms prior to coming to registration to save you time. The EBSL forms can be filled in and printed out directly using ADOBE Reader.

ALL swimmers will need to bring the following ** The EBSL is requiring birth certificates for new and returning swimmers **


1. Complete the Treeview Dolphin Parent Agreement
2. Complete the EBSL Application Form
3. Complete the EBSL Medical Form
4. Bring a separate check for Registration Fee and Pool Use Fee (if applicable)
5. Bring a separate check to pay for a new suit
6. Bring two copies of your child’s birth certificate

 

As usual, if you refer anyone team, you will receive a referral gift and also be recognized at the Awards Banquet. If your child had a fun time (hopefully you did too!) talk it up amongst their friends and your friend and have them join the fun. You know how fun we make it for the kids and how much this team has to offer.  Looking at the roster, it appears that this year we will be looking for swimmers 13 and up.

TEAM BOARD

Some of last year’s Team Board Members (Mimi Bauer, Jessica Doerr and Terry Cruz) crossed over and now are putting their time and efforts on the Club Board. As a result, they will have less of a role on the Team board this year. As a result we are looking for a few individuals to step up and see if they will make a commitment and join the Team board. In particular, Francis Tanjuatco is looking for someone to share the Meet director position with. We are always looking for people who can help with some of our bigger events i.e. the Awards Banquet and Family Fun Night.

TREEVIEW CLUB INFO

This year is the 50th anniversary of the pool and the pool has a lot of great events planned.  This year one of the perks of Club membership is water aerobics and adult lap swimming will be FREE. The Club is also working on getting WIFI on the club grounds. If you have driven by the Pool lately on a weekend and were wondering why the gates were open, well wonder no more! The board has been putting many hours working on beautifying the pool and keeping up with all the maintenance to ensure that we have a great pool to swim in this year.

 

If anyone is free and wants to help make the pool look pretty, the club is having another beautification weekend, 3/20 and 3/21 (11am – 3pm). Please come by and help if you can. Also, if anyone has a propane heater or industrial fans, please call the club. The bathrooms are being painted later this week and they need to be dry.
